Dr. Ricketts is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Clinical Psychologist in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. She serves as Director of Psychology Practicum Training and Associate Director of the UCLA Clinical Psychology Internship. She performs research, delivers treatment, and provides clinical and research supervision in the Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program. Her research centers on circadian and sleep disturbance and associated interventions, including novel light therapies (wearable short-wavelength light therapy, millisecond light flashes), experimental therapeutics (e.g., forehead cooling), and cognitive-behavioral therapy in youth and young adults with Tourette’s disorder (TD), obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and associated psychopathology (ADHD, anxiety). She has emerging interests in social, behavioral, and biological determinants of sleep health and sleep health interventions in adolescents broadly. Her research incorporates multimodal assessment of circadian rhythms and sleep, including self-/parent-report, sleep diary, actigraphy, and salivary melatonin assessment (i.e., dim light melatonin onset). She has received grant funding from the Tourette Association of America, NIMH (K23), Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, NHLBI PRIDE, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation for sleep and circadian projects.
