As an accomplished professional specializing in digital health, I devote my efforts towards improving healthcare equity via decentralized models. As a co-founder and the current head of the NSF IUCRC Center to Stream HealthCare in Place (C2SHIP), I have spearheaded collaborations among academic institutions, community health entities, and industrial stakeholders to advocate a care-in-place model fortified by digital advancements. This initiative has garnered accolades from the National Science Foundation and the Industry-University Research Partnerships program, further validating our work's impact.

In my capacity as a Professor of Surgery at UCLA and the Research Director at the Center for Advanced Surgical & Interventional Technology (CASIT) , I have pioneered novel frameworks and wearable technologies for real-time tracking of cognitive-motor functions, frailty, and risk of falling in geriatric populations. I am also passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within the realm of digital health research. To this end, I have mentored over 300 budding researchers, nurturing the next generation of scientific talent.

Over the course of my career, I have produced over 200 peer-reviewed publications, secured 20 patents, and been awarded over 80 grants cumulatively exceeding $100 million. I have been honored with various accolades, including being ranked among the top 1% of global scholars in my discipline, and being named one of the most influential health and medical leaders.

In addition to these achievements, my roles as an editorial board member and advisor in various scientific journals and organizations, the successful launch of a health-tech startup, and the commercialization of several remote patient monitoring technologies underscore my prowess in leading innovative research projects, administrating grants and teams, and providing scientific and managerial leadership.
