Dr. Jason Hong is a pulmonary and critical care physician who practices in Westwood and provides care to patients admitted to UCLA hospitals in Westwood and Santa Monica. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. His primary clinical interests are in pulmonary vascular diseases such as pulmonary arterial hypertension. He also sees patients with a variety of other pulmonary conditions such as interstitial lung diseases.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hong conducts translational research to uncover the molecular mechanisms of pulmonary arterial hypertension with the ultimate goal of finding more effective therapies for patients. To achieve this goal, he combines experimental investigations using preclinical models and clinical samples with novel computational approaches leveraging advanced sequencing technologies.

Dr. Hong received his undergraduate and MPH degrees from UC Berkeley and his medical degree from Loma Linda University. He completed an internal medicine residency at Columbia and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UCLA. He also received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology at UCLA.

Dr. Hong is an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a member of the American Thoracic Society.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
